Why keep personal work

Client work begins with an existing brief. These projects begin by defining the subject, audience, format and restriction before any visual decision is made.

Open calls and authorship

Some posters were submitted to open calls or competitions. Submission does not mean commission, endorsement or a working relationship with the organisation named in the work.

Selected posters

The Troia festival poster and Underground typography study explore different restrictions: one works with an event identity, the other with type and spatial tension.

Festival poster on blue: a folded paper bird and a wooden horse form built from the same folds.
Black and white typographic poster where the word UNDERGROUND runs into a receding perspective.

NATURE

NATURE is a self-initiated conservation campaign about species losing the colours associated with them. Each poster isolates one animal, names the remaining population and leaves the surrounding field deliberately restrained.

Conservation poster on a warm grey ground: a snow tiger photographed inside a thin white frame, with the species name and an estimated population beneath it.
NATURE, a self-initiated campaign. No organisation commissioned it.
Conservation poster on a burnt orange ground: a red panda in a thin white frame, with the species name and remaining population beneath it.
Conservation poster on a pale blue ground: emperor penguins in a thin white frame, with a line about their disappearing habitat.
